WILD HEART WILDLIFE FOUNDATION AND THE FUTURE

Since inception, it has always been the dream of Wild Heart Wildlife Foundation to open its own Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and be so much more than a Support Organization. But dreams like that come with a heavy price tag, and not one that we could even remotely afford.

Recently, one of our loyal supporters offered us the Opportunity of a Lifetime! We were offered a Farm to develop a WHWF Rehab Facility on. The monthly costs will be nominal, and you seriously cannot ask for a better deal.

There is a lot of work to be done - and the funding that would need to be raised to turn this dream into a reality, is substantial, but we remain positive!

It's 25 Hectares (62 Acres) of pure heaven, situated at the Southern-most edge of the Bushveld, in a vulnerable biosphere. There is even a little stream and kloof, where there used to be a hiking trail. The house of this family farm was built in 1850, and is still solid as a rock.

Unfortunately, the current caretakers neglected to maintain the beautiful property, and there are substantial repairs & upgrading needed. Work in the form of labour is not the problem, but the development and repair of the infrastructure is what will cost the most.  And to make this dream a reality, we'll need your help to raise the funds.

The plan is to upgrade the white section of the main house into a Wildlife Clinic. That still leaves the rest of the main house for primary accommodation. There is an extra cottage that can be rented out or used as volunteer accommodation. Various outbuildings can be upgraded for use as caretaker dwellings, for staff, or to rent out as rustic tourist getaways to generate an income for the Rehab. There are existing enclosures that can easily be repaired to house wildlife in need. There is a borehole supplying adequate water.

What are we waiting for, you may think?

This offer really is a dream come true, and now we need to make it happen. That needs money. Not millions, but a substantial amount. We will be going back shortly to do a full audit of exactly what is necessary to be upgraded, and then we will be able to put a price to it.

In the meantime, if there are any Corporate Sponsors looking to invest in a very worthwhile tax write-off - this is your chance! Please Contact Us if you would like to get involved, or need more information.

Meanwhile we'll keep on Dreaming of Big, Wild Plans, with our Passionate Wild Hearts.
